About Us

We are currently offering all services at a rate of $60. Why so much less than the competition? We have very little overhead and know that a lot of people cannot afford the $100 a session that most other providers offer. We feel everyone deserves the benefits of our services and want to give that opportunity to everyone.

Not all hypnotists are the same. Education level, specialty and experience can differ greatly. Know what to ask for when searching for a clinical hypnotherapist:

Education: Mostly clinical hypnotherapists have only 100 hours of training, some even less. Also, many have little or no training in psychology or counseling.

Degree: Many hypnotists will tell you that they hold a BS or Ph.D in hypnotherapy. There is currently only one nationally accredited college or university in the United States that we know of that offers any degrees in hypnosis. Find out how many hours of training they have rather than degree. Information and confirmation of accreditation and degrees can be found at the Council for Higher Education Accreditation's website

. Pay special attention to the sections about degree mills and accreditation mills.

Specialty: Many other types of counselors, such as clinical social workers, use hypnosis. Just because they are already a counselor doesn't mean they are a good hypnotist. Find out about their hypnosis training.

What sets Newburyport Center for Hypnotherapy and Healing apart from the others:

The hypnotherapists at our center have had over a year of training in hypnosis using the techniques of Dr. Maurice Kouguell, Ph.D., BCETS in addition to the usual 100 hours, as well many years of training and experience in psychological counseling.
